At Lindt & Sprüngli AG, investment applications were traditionally prepared, reviewed and approved in a paper-based process. Documents were forwarded by internal mail. Information about the status of an order could only be obtained by specific enquiries. A complete overview of all current investment requests was difficult to obtain. Lindt & Sprüngli was no longer satisfied with this and was looking for a solution that would standardize and shorten the process.
1stQuad had already set up an intranet and collaboration platform for Lindt & Sprüngli and now received the order to digitalize the investment approval process. In close cooperation with the business departments involved, the digitized business process was developed and implemented using SharePoint, Nintex Workflow, and Nintex Forms.
Today, investment requests are subject to a uniform process. The applicant fills out a form on the intranet. Once the request has been entered, an automated workflow starts: a controller decides on the scope of the request and forwards it to one of the specified approval chains. The persons involved are notified successively by e-mail and record their decision in a form that displays exactly the relevant information. In addition, a PDF file is generated which records all steps up to the decision.
Each investment application is thus archived in a complete, unchangeable and traceable manner. Authorized employees can view the status of all applications on a dashboard at any time. Lindt & Sprüngli is convinced of the benefits of automated workflows and has already digitalized further business processes with the support of 1stQuad.
